Work at Google
This afternoon in the car, Jeff told us a story about people completing extremely complicated math problems in order to get an interview with Google. So, I did a Google search for “jobs at Google” and found my way around to this play list on YouTube. I was interested to hear software engineers talk about working in an innovative and dynamic work environment.

Some staff members and I were commenting at lunch the other day about getting massages at lunch. I think our productivity and excitement for coming to work would increase as well. Looks like these people are having fun. It looks like some key driving components are collaboration, cooperation, humor, drive, and feeling like your work is making a difference. How do you get kids to be emotional about their work like this?

I think that the key to job satisifaction is to know that what you do makes a difference. Jody’s comment about getting kids to feel that emotional about their work is the essence of what we do in my opinion. If children feel that way then we as teachers are empowered. I feel emotional/passionate about that! It is the reason I keep loving my work.
