The University of Colorado has done well to identify the principles of Universal Design for Learning and apply them to the older learner. Since the principles of UDL are UNIVERSAL, meaning helpful for ALL LEARNERS, many of their “tips” are easily adaptable for the K-1 environment. The podcasts and video vignettes provide a clear explination of the principle, how it applies to all learners and ideas for incorporating the new techniques into existing lessons. Handouts are available as well.
