Secondary UDL Network Meeting

Published by Jeff at 3:43 pm under Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

Wow, anoother great day at the Center. I never cease to be impressed by the teachers who come through our doors. I had an opportunity today to wander around and listen to what people were talking about and planning.

Thank you to all who presented today. We appreciate it. Also, thank you to all who shared a lesson. We believe that the lesson sharing is one of the most important things that we do. I hope everyone found some new ideas.

For the purposes of this post, I would like your comments on the following: Throughout today, and indeed at almost every professional development session, you evaluate lesson ideas in your head before you decide to give them a try. My question is this; against what standards do you judge lesson ideas? In other words, what makes you give one idea a try and disreagard another suggestion?

Do you judge in terms of the amount of time it would take to prepare? Against what you perceive to be your strengths and weaknesses? Do you base your decision on what you know about your students and what they respond to?

I am eager to read your responses.
